Lois M. Lewis, age 93, of Louisville, Illinois, passed away peacefully at 6:05 am Thursday, November 28, 2024, at her home in Bible Grove.
Lois was born on October 31, 1931, in Clay County, Illinois the daughter of Harry Isom and Bonnie Mae (Fancher) Wolfe. Lois married Gerald W. "Jerry" Lewis on May 14, 1949, at the Flora Christian Church and they shared 55 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on February 10, 2005.
Lois spent her professional life helping children safely navigate their way to and from North Clay School as a bus driver for over 23 years. Her commitment to the safety and well-being of those in her charge was evident in every turn she took. Lois also had a creative side that she expressed through her embroidery and quilting. Each piece she crafted was not just a blanket or design, but a warm hug, a story, a piece of her heart woven into every stitch.
